Brochure Design

Product Photography

Project Overview

I was commissioned by Woolly Mahoosive, a York-based company specialising in hand knitting yarn and oversized knitting needles, to design a new product brochure that could be handed out to clients and stockists. The goal was to create a clean, modern, and visually engaging brochure that showcased their entire product range in a way that reflected the brand’s bold and creative personality.

The Brief

The brief was clear:

  • Design a stylish, easy-to-navigate brochure that highlights the full product range.

  • Include high-quality product photography to bring the yarns and knitting needles to life.

  • Create a design that is consistent with their brand identity and versatile for both print and digital distribution.

To meet these requirements, I handled both the graphic design and the photography aspects of the project.

The Creative Process

The process began with a planning session to outline the brochure structure and the information hierarchy, ensuring it would be easy for clients to browse and find the details they needed.

Next came the photography. I set up my portable studio on-site at Woolly Mahoosive’s York headquarters, where I captured fresh, high-quality images of their products. This on-site setup allowed for perfect lighting, consistent angles, and a true-to-life representation of each yarn’s colour and texture.

Once the photography was complete, I incorporated the images into a clean and modern brochure layout, using a balance of white space and bold typography to make the visuals stand out. The final design highlights the brand’s creativity while keeping the focus firmly on the products.

The Result

The finished Woolly Mahoosive product brochure is a perfect blend of eye-catching design and practical layout. The new photography ensures every yarn and knitting needle is shown in its best light, while the brochure itself is professional, stylish, and easy to use — perfect for handing out at trade shows, workshops, or sending digitally to potential stockists.
