Drink Label Design
As part of a brand refresh, Ampleforth Abbey Drinks approached me to redesign their entire range of product labels. The aim was to create a cohesive, modern look that worked seamlessly across their full range, while still allowing each product to stand out with unique colours and icons.
The redesign included labels for their Beer, Cider, Premium Cider, Apple Juice, and Honey.
The Brief
The client wanted a design that:

The Creative Process
To bring the new look to life, I started by developing a clean, versatile layout that could adapt to each product. The key feature of the design was a pattern running along the bottom of each label, tying the range together visually while allowing for customization.

Beer Labels
Featured a hop icon integrated into the pattern, paired with a rich, bold colour palette to reflect the craft nature of the beer. -
Cider & Premium Cider Labels
Used an apple icon within the pattern, with fresh, vibrant colours that differentiate the standard cider from the premium range. -
Apple Juice Labels
Carried the same apple motif for consistency, but in a lighter, softer colour scheme to reflect the refreshing, family-friendly drink. -
Honey Labels
Featured a bee icon in the pattern, paired with warm golden tones to create a natural, authentic feel.
By keeping the structure consistent and only adjusting colours and icons, I ensured the labels look like part of the same family while maintaining individuality for each product.
The Result
The final designs deliver a fresh, modern aesthetic while celebrating the traditional values of Ampleforth Abbey Drinks. The cohesive branding makes the products instantly recognisable on the shelf, while the clear visual cues help customers easily navigate the range.
This thoughtful update has given the brand a strong, consistent presence across their entire product line, from craft beer and cider to their premium honey and apple juice.
