Tapped Brew Co - Pump Clip Graphic Design
I was commissioned by Tapped Brew Co, a well-established brewery based in Sheffield, to create a fresh, modern pump clip design that would be used across their entire range of beers. The goal was to develop a design that not only felt current and professional but also paid homage to the brewery building itself — a key part of their identity.
The Brief
The brewery wanted a versatile and consistent pump clip design that:
-
Connected visually to their historic Sheffield building.
-
Could be adapted for their full range of beers, both existing and new.
-
Maintained a clean, professional aesthetic while allowing each beer to stand out through unique colours and descriptions.

The Design Process
To create a strong connection between the design and the brewery’s heritage, I began by looking closely at the building’s architecture. One detail that stood out was the unique tiled wall pattern inside the brewery.
I traced the original tile design and converted it into a vector graphic, giving me a flexible and scalable pattern to work with. From there, I:
-
Enhanced the tracing to modernise the look while keeping the original character intact.
-
Created a repeating pattern and incorporated subtle hop illustrations to tie the design back to the brewing process.
-
Applied the design consistently across the full range, while changing the colour palette and beer details for each individual clip to help customers quickly identify their favourite brews.
The Result
The final pump clip design strikes a perfect balance between heritage and modern branding. The subtle nod to the building’s history gives the design authenticity, while the clean lines and adaptable layout ensure the brand looks sharp and consistent across all products.
This new system not only strengthens the Tapped Brew Co identity but also creates an eye-catching presence at the bar, helping their beers stand out to both loyal customers and new drinkers alike.
